Hello
I create handmade functional pottery in my studio based in The Hidden Lane, which is also open to the public to shop.
My work is inspired by the magic of autumn and nature’s little details such as mushrooms, ladybirds, and an interest in tarot symbols. Each piece is designed to bring a bit of whimsy and warmth to everyday life.
A lot of my inspiration also stems from not just the outdoors, but also my childhood drawings which depict a running theme of fungi and ladybirds.
My Story
Originally from Cheshire, I moved up to Glasgow in 2016 to study textiles as The Glasgow School of art, followed by a masters degree in illustration at Edinburgh College of Art. During my time studying, I experimented with clay for fun, but soon became hooked. I have always seen myself as a multidiscipinary maker, and love tactile processes.
My pottery journey began around 6 years ago, after I attended a 5 week wheel throwing course at Spin Pottery, where I have been working to date. I have worked as a pottery teacher for the past 5 years, which has led me to the point I am at now. Throughout the Covid lockdown, I began making and selling my work on etsy. Over the years my work has developed and my business has grown, and now sell my wares in my own shop based in The Hidden Lane in Finnieston.
One of my biggest achievements is having a selection of my mugs shown on an episode of The Great Pottery Throwdown, where the presenters can be seen drinking from the pieces.
